Senator Anthony Muse who hopes to be the County Executive has called for the Resignation of CEO and School Superintendent Dr. Kevin Maxwell following a litany of mishaps that included sexual abuse, the loss of funds for Head Start program, grade fixing scandals, misconduct in the central office, unauthorized pay raises etc. He called on the state attorney Angela Alsobrook to open a formal investigation. (See video above).
Maxwell was reappointed by Baker earlier last year. He opposed Question D which eventually added two at-large council seats, saying it was a mask to get around term limits and provide real estate developers with undue influence on county legislation.
In the meantime, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker III (D) continues to face new pressure to jettison his handpicked education chief on Thursday last week, when a top ally – State’s Attorney Angela D. Alsobrook, who hopes to succeed Baker atop county government – called on him to seek the resignation of the same embattled Prince George’s County Public Schools CEO Kevin M. Maxwell, Hawa Konte wrote last week.
Alsobrooks’s chief rivals in the county executive race, former congresswoman Donna F. Edwards and state Sen. C. Anthony Muse (D-Prince George’s), said long ago that Baker should oust chief executive Kevin M. Maxwell, who is facing a state investigation into grade tampering, questions about unauthorized pay raises and, most recently, a probe into a hidden camera found in an administrative office, Donna George reported for the Post.
Angela Alsobrooks (Right), former congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (left) and Senator C. Anthony Muse are all calling for the firing of Dr. Kevin Maxwell. On Tuesday April 24th, 2018, Senator Muse called for Dr. Kevin Maxwell to resign and is also calling for the state Attorney Angela AlsoBrook to open an investigation due to misconduct in office in Prince George’s County Public Schools. (see video above).
Dr. Kevin Maxwell is set to be fired following a litany of mishaps that includes sexual abuse, the loss of funds for Head Start program, grade fixing scandals, misconduct in the central office, unauthorized pay raises etc.
