Carletta Fellows
Reform Sasscer Movement has learned that Ms. Carletta Fellows accused of charging more than $700 of personal expenses to her board-issued credit card has resigned.
According to Prince George’s County Public Schools, Carletta Fellows announced her resignation Thursday. She was elected to the board last year to represent District 7 constituents. During her short tenure in the Board, she worked very hard and created a strong accountability check on previous Board Chairperson Ms. Verjeana Jacobs until Ms. Jacobs lost her position through the legislature by the way of HB1107. Even though she is leaving the Board of Education, this woman of God should be supported even in retirement. If she made a mistake, it’s because she did not know. The fight against corruption must continue ~ A luta continua!
Fellows was the only board member who supported County Executive Rushern Baker’s plan to take over the school system. (Read more Washington post)

Sad. I voted for her because I thought she would be different. She moved to have another chairperson removed for doing virtually the same thing. It’s not the amount of money she fraudulently used (because any amount takes away from our county’s resources and increases taxes), it’s the hypocritical nature of her actions.

Fellows made mistakes as any other person has and while her actions with the card were not desirable, given the tendencies in this county, now ALL of the board members should be checked. How many of them have done the same thing? What bothers me is that the board did not do its due diligence in performing background checks until after Ms. Fellows supported Mr. Baker’s plan. Too convenient. Sounds like a well-timed head shot to me.

We agree with you. All Board members should be checked what they have bought with their credit cards. The Board tried to finish off Ms. Fellows in a very malicious manner.

What happens to her district’s representation? Will a special election be held or will our district remain unrepresented until next election?

Note: Apparently a HS principal resigned late last week in PGCPS to take a job with a former super in the city of brotherly love. Also, what happened with the head of communications?

Head of communications resigned a few days before June 1, 2013. He was in our priority list.
